Information Collection, Use, and Disclosure


Information Collected Through the Site

On some areas of our Site, we may request that you provide personal information, including your name, address, email address, and telephone number (“personally identifiable information”). For example, if you complete a registration form to access the products and services available on our Site, we may collect the personally identifiable information you provide during the registration process. Once you have registered with the Site, we may also collect primarily aggregated information about your transactions with the Site’s features and services, including but not limited to your specific requests for information from the Site’s mapping and other tools and your query results (“Transactional Data”). We do not share Transactional Data with any third parties for marketing purposes and for other purposes, we only share such Transactional Data for the limited reasons further described below.

We may use the personally identifiable information you provide to us in a variety of ways, including but not limited to the following purposes: to fulfill your request for information; process a registration or subscription request; send information about new or existing products and services available from us; distribute announcements; contact you regarding your use of our products or services; contact you regarding changes to this Privacy Statement or other policies or terms that affect your use of this Site; and/or for any other purpose specified on the Site or in this Privacy Statement. Without limiting the foregoing, iMapData maintains email lists to keep individuals informed about iMapData products and services, breaking news, upcoming events or other issues related to iMapData. We use the contact information you provided upon registration to contact you by email.

We may disclose personally identifiable information to third party contractors or service providers that help us provide products or services to you. We may share some or all of your personal information with our subsidiaries and affiliates, joint venturers, or other companies under common control (collectively, “affiliates”), in which case we will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Statement. We may also share some or all of your personally identifiable information with other organizations with whom we have entered into a business relationship for their internal business reasons, such as ensuring that the Site's on-line tools and resources are only used for business reasons. We never share Transactional Data, however, on a stand alone basis and we only do so in connection with other account information if in response to a specific request from the primary account holder or representative for the entity paying the applicable fees for the account. If our company or assets are acquired by another company, that company will possess the personally identifiable information and the Transactional Data collected and stored by us and it will assume the rights and obligations regarding your personal information as described in this Privacy Statement. We may disclose personally identifiable information and/or Transactional Data if required to do so by law or to comply with valid legal process (such as a search warrant, subpoena or court order), to protect the company’s rights or property (including without limitation in the event of a transfer of control of the company or substantially all of its assets), or during emergencies when safety is at risk.

Aggregate and Statistical Information

When you access our Site or use the products and services available through our Site, we may collect certain non-personally identifiable information about your computer, use of the Site, and Site navigation patterns. Our systems may automatically note your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your computer’s operating system, the browser you use for Internet access, date/time stamp, the specific web pages visited during your connection, number of clicks, and referring or exiting pages. These web site logs do not contain, nor are they tied to, any personally identifiable information about you.

We use non-personally identifiable information and Transactional Data to monitor statistics about use of our Site. For example, we may track the total number of visits to our Site, the number of visits or each page of the Site, the order in which pages are visited, and the types of queries submitted to the Site. We use these statistics in the aggregate for system maintenance and to help us improve the performance and value of our Site. We may share statistical or demographic information in aggregate form with third parties for research or marketing purposes. This aggregate data will not contain any information that personally identifies you.

Without limiting anything in this Privacy Statement to the contrary, and as noted above, if we receive a specific request from a customer or client to provide statistical or other information about usage of the Site by that customer or client, or its agents or employees, we may share with that customer or client personally identifiable information, non-personally identifiable information, and/or Transactional Data collected through the Site about the customer or client or its agents or employees.

Children’s Privacy

This Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

Data Security

The security of your personally identifiable information and Transactional Data is important to us. Our databases are restricted to authorized iMapData staff. We have implemented reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personally identifiable information and Transactional Data submitted to us from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. Please be aware, however, that no method of data transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic data storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to protect your personally identifiable information and Transactional Data, we cannot guarantee the absolute security, integrity, and privacy of any or all information exchanged between you and us through this Site. We make no warranty, express, implied or otherwise, that we will prevent unauthorized access to or use of your personally identifiable information or Transactional Data.

Cookies

iMapData uses a Session ID cookie solely to facilitate efficient Site navigation and improve your experience on Site. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our Site.

Links to Other Sites

This Site may contain links to other web sites that are not operated or controlled by us. These third party sites may be governed by separate privacy policies. Please be aware that iMapData Inc. is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our Site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Statement applies solely to information collected on this Site.

California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits user of this Site who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for such third parties’ direct marketing purposes.
